Food related businesses have many special problems, requirements, and issues that are best addressed with industry specific experience. Following are areas where Louis has that industry specific experience which would enable him to productively and effectively resolve operational problems, advance new product efforts, and achieve better results faster.
Louis has had hands on experience through direct involvement, direct management, or oversight responsibility in the following areas:
- Food Safety - Personally wrote the food safety program for submission to the voluntary USDA QTV Program (Quality Through Verification), implemented the program, and managed it successfully for over 5 years with unannounced USDA audits.
- Quality Control - Had direct responsibility for raw product, production in process, and finished product Quality Control Program; QC Manager reported directly to Louis
- Transportation and Distribution - Had operational responsibility for transportation with dual temperature requirements in transit and multiple temperature requirements in storage; forklift driver and truck driver safety programs
- Plant Sanitation – A major part of the food safety program, required a separate staff to perform post production sanitation with task specific chemicals and sanitizers
- Product pricing – Processed fresh cut produce with multiple componets in single products, required yield analysis, direct and indirect labor involvement, and overhead allocations for finished product costing and delivered pricing
- Production efficiency – Managed production operations with multiple production lines including low, medium and high volume throughput, various product input and output situations to accommodate the throughput requirements.
- Production Incentive Pay systems – Implemented and managed production incentive compensation programs rewarding employees for high productivity, efficiency and safety.
